The Asian Pacific Federation of Societies for Hand Therapy (APFSHT) has been founded for the purpose of coordinating the activities of the various societies for Hand Therapy in the Asian Pacific region, to increase and enhance the exchange of knowledge of Hand Therapy.  Its purposes are:

1. To enhance the quality of hand therapy practice for all therapists in the region through the exchange of knowledge among participating Societies;

2. To exchange knowledge through conferences, publications and scientific meetings;

3. To facilitate communication between hand surgeons and hand therapists in the region;

4. To develop goals of mutual interest between the Asian Pacific Federation of Societies for Surgery of the Hand (APFSSH) and the APFSHT;

5. To assist some countries in the Asia Pacific region who may not be members where there is a need to develop hand therapy services;

6. To promote an Asian Pacific bibliography or information base of Hand Therapy relevant to Asia Pacific Therapists;
